Data handling in DataRead.

Understand what stays on your computer and what happens when the optional dashboard update feed is used.

Product scope — not a delivery promise: The capabilities and workspace descriptions on this website explain DataRead’s current development direction and intended product scope. They do not guarantee that every feature is already implemented, complete, available in a particular build, or will be delivered. Items described as proposed, planned, exploratory or roadmap features are not commitments; they may change, be delayed, replaced or never be implemented. Treat a capability as released only when it is explicitly included in the release notes for a specific, validated application build. DataRead Enterprise 0.1.0 is a source development build and has not been certified as production-ready.

Local dataset processing

DataRead is designed to open and process datasets within the desktop application. This product website does not offer a dataset upload feature or browser-based processing service.

Dashboard public-source requests

The Live Dashboard can request headline metadata for preset topics. Requests include the selected topic query and ordinary network request metadata. The dashboard does not include dataset values, file names, project names, Notes or slide content in those topic requests.

Local dashboard history

DataRead records its own request topic, local timestamp, response status, result count, elapsed time and short error details in a local activity database. Cached article metadata may be retained locally for convenience. These counters describe DataRead's recorded activity, not a remaining quota from the public data provider.

External publisher links

Dashboard entries link to original publisher pages. DataRead presents headline metadata and does not republish full article text. When you open an external publisher page, that publisher's own privacy and data-handling practices apply.

Local project records

Project files, Notes, visualisations, snapshots and local activity records are stored on the computer according to the build's configuration. In DataRead Enterprise 0.1.0, Vault metadata is not encrypted. Use independent backups and do not place regulated or highly sensitive data in this development build without an independently reviewed security design.

Optional components

Some statistical analysis workflows require additional locally installed components. Follow the exact release setup guide and review the third-party notices supplied with that build.
